For those with Medicare, they cover IGENEX, GALAXY and REAL TIME LABS.
For Igenex, have an MD sign the order. Unfortunately Medicare does not cover ND orders. I found it is best to get my Lyme literate doctor to fill out the orders and then take them to my primary to fill out the rest of the paperwork.
In order for Medicare to cover Real Time labs it must be ordered by a practitioner. You can definitely self order Real Time labs in most states (not all unfortunately) but only if you are paying. For your Medicare to cover the test, you have to have your practitioner call them on their practitioner line. Real Time is Dr. Neil Nathan's preferred test.
The fact the government pays for these labs gives them legitimacy and anyone who has has a doctor say these aren't real labs should be reminded that THE federal government covers them so they must think they are pretty real.
